A hike to Sonnstein, new friendships, and a conversation about inclusion

In September, ÖH JKU’s Department for International Affairs (REFI) organized a hike to Sonnstein for Erasmus+ exchange students and their buddies. Several SNJKU members joined them on the trail.

As the group climbed, students had time to talk beyond the usual introductions. Walking together helped exchange students and buddies get to know one another and feel more connected.

Talking about inclusion

For our members, the hike also opened up a conversation about inclusion in student life. Throughout the day, they brainstormed challenges that neurodivergent young people may face during their studies and discussed what could help address them. It was a chance to listen, share ideas, and think about how studying could become more accessible and supportive.

Thank you, REFI

Thank you to REFI for bringing everyone together. We came home with new connections and questions we want to keep exploring.
